Cybersecurity for Sustainable Internet of Things Implementation in Healthcare

This systematic review aims to summarize and analyze the impact and implications of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the healthcare sector. A comprehensive electronic search was conducted using Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus, covering articles published between January 1, 2019, and July 1, 2024, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The review examines cybersecurity threats in IoT-based healthcare infrastructure and applications that support smart healthcare services. The integration of IoT in medical data collection and storage offers valuable opportunities for data analysis, enhancing risk factor identification, disease diagnosis, treatment, and remote monitoring. This, in turn, facilitates reliable self-monitoring for patients. The study evaluates both the advantages and risks associated with IoT in healthcare and provides recommendations for further research.
